Cascade / Sarapsap - Alaminos Boutique Hotel

The client approached us with one goal; to create a destination for both locals and tourists in Alaminos City with the use of container vans. The project started with a masterplan, which was made in collaboration with landscape architects, TANATA, to ensure the preservation of the bordering river at the rear edge of the property. Additionally, the landscape design was integrated early in the design, which allowed us to better orient the spaces for seamless indoor and outdoor connections. The expansive lot was divided into three sections; a public park combined with the driveway and parking, a commercial ‘pool club’, and the two-storey boutique villas by the river.

The public park was added to the plan to give back to the community, as the client wanted the resort to become a social space for locals and tourists. The front structure, which houses the main lobby, restaurant, spa, and main pool, features intricate brick walls that resemble a local weave pattern to provide privacy and security. By the end of the lot, the two-storey boutique villas are a configuration of container vans that create an aerial pattern that cascades on site. The alternating shift in containers offers hotel users private views of surrounding gardens.
